Tempered Zealot Updates

It's been a while since we've hit the blog. Lots of things going on but for the most part it's a lot of the same old stuff now. We keep hearing back about festivals that have rejected or accepted A Thousand Words: Bloodline. Those that we've been accepted to are updated on the main page of the site and archived on the ATW: Bloodline page we've put up. We added an ATW: Bloodline page because there is really no reason to remove the information but we keep getting so much to post that the front page was getting too long. People can also check out the 'Official Selection' laurels at the ATW: Bloodline OFFICIAL WEBSITE in the 'Video' section.

Over Coffee continues to make it into a festival here and there. I'd like it to be out there more and be getting more attention but it just goes to show that people must think we do better at horror than anything else. It's a shame we are not getting more notice from the right people, I think with the state of the horror genre movies coming out of Hollywood that we could make a big difference given a good budget.

The first question everyone asks after seeing ATW: Bloodline is "what was your budget?", that's a huge compliment because we only spent $200 bucks on the whole production thanks to all the cast and crew who volunteered and pitched in to make it all work. Most of that $200 dollars was spent on food. Hopefully someone will see the potential in the short and contact us to give us a shot. Though I know how unlikely that is, one should never lose hope, not even in the face of "reality"

In other news, we are working on a new project. This will be an interesting one as the production is so out there and I don't think anyone has attempted something like it independently. The story we are working out is really great, it's like a Quantum Leap meets Nightmare on Elm St. and really has a lot of great writing going into it. We will be shooting the piece in segments so we will be working on this for a long time, but it's worth it because the production value stands to be so high from the method that is being used.

The potential for this to have a big impact on the local film scene is immense. The plan to market and promote the entire thing is really cool and I don't think it's been done before either. That's the best part about the whole thing. It's so hard to come up with something original these days and this is one of those once in a lifetime things that just is original and looks like it will really work. The whole thing is very exciting and once we pull it off things around here will definitely change.

Right now we are not spilling too much of the project out to the public, but once we get really rolling everyone will be able to see things unfold from start to finish and then some. Hopefully along the way everyone will get to know a lot of the people here in Columbus and see that we have a lot of talented and skilled professional people who are very passionate about making movies.

That's about it. I can't really think of too much else to update. I'm excited as hell to get on set for this project. We haven't shot anything all year and that's the longest we've gone. Still promoting ATW: Bloodline and I'm planning on going to Cinema Wasteland so if anyone is up there look out for the guys pushing the A Thousand Words: Bloodline ads.

Rock on!
